Wedding Workshops – Make a Naked Cake

Wedding Season is upon us! Whether you’re a bride ticking off your pre-wedding prep or a guest wanting to make a special hand-made contribution to your nearest and dearest’s big day, you’ll want to hear about our inspiring Wedding Workshops. We’re running a series of Wedding Workshops at selected stores from Wednesday 13th – Friday 15th April but you can also join in at home with our Wedding Workshop how tos here on the blog.

Next on our Wedding Workshops agenda: the naked wedding cake. Right now there’s a real trend for these simple, beautifully decorated and, most importantly, delicious sponges, (not a dry fruitcake covered in thick icing in sight!) Naked cakes also just happen to fit right in with our modern vintage aesthetic and Garden Party theme for SS16, so we teamed up with blogger, vlogger and Jamie Oliver’s Food Tube regular, Katie Pix, and challenged her to create a cake inspired by the photography from our latest catalogue, and fit for a happy couple on their happiest day.

The results look absolutely mouthwatering don’t they?! And Katie assures us this recipe is as straightforward to prepare as it is scrummy to eat, so head on over to her Youtube channel and find out how to make a naked wedding cake of your very own! (Save us a slice please!)
