First up is Cath Kidston Social Media and Content Manager Modupe Ogunniyi. Her role allows her to be ultra creative, working on campaigns and developing engaging online and social media content – something she’s always wanted to do.
Just remember, its what’s inside that counts…
What is your typical 9-5 day?
My core hours are actually 8-4 which is helpful as I can then pick my son from his afterschool club. The days are a mix of responding to emails and being in meetings, that sounds really bland, but when those emails and meetings are about campaign planning, photoshoots and fun content, it’s far from boring!
What is the most rewarding part of your job?
My job allows me to be pretty creative, for example, if we have a campaign and I think a video interviewing school kids would be great and relatable, or a step-by-step on how to make your own tarranium, we do it – just as long as they’re pieces of content our audience would enjoy and engage with. Having an idea in my head and then seeing it come to life is super rewarding.
How did you get to where you are today?
Dreaming… I knew in my mind the direction I wanted to head in once I left university and I always go back to that to ensure I’m moving in the correct direction. Day dreaming can actually be very practical!
What do you look for in a handbag?
Space and sturdy straps. I always take my laptop, at least two notebooks and a book in my bag, so space is necessary.
Are you daring with prints and colours or do you go for something plain?
For a workbag, I usually go plain, so my Freston tote is perfect. However, on days out, I love a bolder cross-body bag.
Have you got different compartments to put things in?
I always pack a smaller pouch in my larger bags, which carries my gloss, hand santiser, loose change and bits like that. Everything else just goes straight in.
Is there anything you wouldn’t leave home without (and would return for if you forgot)?
A tad generic, but my phone! I’m always on it… checking Social! Also, as a working mum, my son’s school is constantly calling me with updates on how he once again hurt himself.
What’s currently in your bag?
A book, currently I’m reading Bathsheba by Angela Hunt
My Paperblanks diary and my notebook
My Cath Kidston velvet purse with a few bits of make-up and skincare
My Cath Kidston card holder
Modupe has all the handbag essentials for success and it’s a pleasure to have welcomed her to the blog. Plus, make sure to follow us on social media for more behind the scenes with Cath Kidston!
