Guest Post: Tigerlilly Quinn

This summer we’ve got some extra special guest blog posts lined up. We’ve teamed up with some of our favourite lifestyle bloggers and over the coming weeks we’ll be exclusively sharing their summer holiday snaps and back to school tips, as well as some of their favourite pieces from our AW15 collection. This week, we joined the lovely Fritha of Tigerlilly Quinn on a family day out in her hometown of Bristol.

“Hello I’m Fritha, and I blog over at Tigerlilly Quinn. I’m so excited to give you a peek into our weekend and show you a bit of our life here in Bristol. We headed over to the harbourside on Saturday for a little brunch and a run around. Bristol really is so beautiful in the summer. We love to spend our weekends by the water as much as possible, running along the boardwalks or taking a boat trip down the harbour for ice creams!

“I’m roughly six months pregnant, and when it comes to ‘dressing the bump’ I tend to still go for the brands I love rather than maternity wear. I often find that buying the size up in the right style works just as well (or better) than choosing clothes that are labelled “maternity”. Tunic-style dresses are ideal for this, which is why I love this one from Cath Kidston so much. Without the bump it would wear well as a simple dress with bare legs, but while pregnant I love to pair it with tights, leggings or jeans. I think pieces like this are really versatile and make good investments as they can be worn all year round. I’ll be wearing mine with a cardigan (as shown below) in the cooler months or evenings, and as a simple summer dress.

“I am a recent convert to backpacks, having not worn one since school, and I have to say I have been missing out! As a mum I tended to lug around first change bags and then large tote bags, which I would often cram full of just about everything you could possibly think of! I chose the mini backpack in the hope that it would make me more selective with what I choose to take out with me on my day-to-day, and I’ve found it brilliant. With a three year old I really only need to take a spare set of clothes, a couple of toys, a drink and a snack. I pack my essentials (keys, wallet, phone and small camera) and I’m done. I’ve really loved the freedom having both hands free has given me, as well as not carrying a large weight around on one side of my body. I think this print is so versatile as it’s quite a neutral colour so I can imagine it suiting a variety of outfits.

“My third piece for this outfit was this cardigan which I am so in love with. It’s made from the softest wool blend you can imagine, and although the weather doesn’t warrant something quite so thick yet I’m really looking forward to the cooler months so I can snuggle down in it. Comfort and style in one!

“My three year old son Wilf is really looking forward to becoming a brother and will often speak to or cuddle my tummy. Wilf chose this Dino t-shirt and he absolutely loves it. He’s a big fan of dinosaurs in general and we always have to make sure we have at least two little dinosaur toys with us at any given moment! I love the baseball style design and the colours really complement each other.”
