November has arrived, and Christmas is in full swing here in Cath Kidston HQ (although we’ll admit, not everyone agrees on the festive music just yet!). Over the coming weeks, we’ll be bringing you lots of handy tips and tricks to guide you through everything you’ll need for the big day. This time of the year brings many annual meets-up, family get-togethers and festive fun that all happen at home, and we have the essential pieces to make your party season table pop! Scroll down for a quick guide to making this year’s festive feast extra special at The Home of Christmas…
The first step is easy-peasy – it’s the tablecloth! Eating can be messy business, so protect your dining table from gravy spills and crumbs with a crisp tablecloth in snowy white – or choose a Christmassy colour that works with your dining room decor. If you’re seating lots of guests, layering plates can help save on space AND it looks decorative. Our Novelty Baubles Plates come in a pack of two and are adorned with adorable Christmas characters, plus their size makes them fab for starters, cheese courses and more. Complete the place setting with a napkin, cutlery and glassware.
Next, we have the centrepiece. For a particularly Christmassy feel, why not include foliage (fresh or fake!) to add a pop of colour to the table. Pine cones help to bring a sprinkling of seasonal sparkle – and they look even better when decorated with glitter spray! We always try to remember that baubles don’t just belong on the tree either – they make the perfect table buddies too. Plus, this year we have beautiful blown glass baubles that match the print of our Novelty Baubles plates – how cool is that! You can shop a pack of four here.
Once the table is a feast for the eyes, put the cherry on top with a name card to let everyone know where to drop off their Secret Santa gift. You could print these off, but handwritten cards add a sentimental touch and are so easy to make. Oh, and don’t forget the crackers! For a few final finishing touches, why not set the ambience with candles or a strand of fairy lights woven into the foliage.
We hope you enjoyed this whistle-stop guide to setting your Christmas table, and remember, you can shop all you need to make your house The Home of Christmas here. Don’t forget to tag us in your pictures either – we can’t wait to see what beautiful festive feasts you have this year!
