Festival season is not too far away and we’re already getting excited for late nights, mud fights and weeks in wellies.
As we started getting together our camping gear, we got thinking about all the fun we got up to last year, so we thought it was a good time to share the best bits with you.
In case you missed it, last summer we gave an old library van a new lease of life with a Cath Kidston-style makeover, and we took it on the road. From May to September, our Cath Kidston tour van did the festival rounds – stocked with all your favourite bits, our summer essentials and a range of limited edition products specially designed just for the tour.
The first stop was Beach Break live, set in the beautiful Pembrey Country Park that boasts eight miles of sandy beaches and 500 acres of woodland. This boutique festival played host to a summer cocktail of magic, memories and killer music in a sublime coastal location.
Next on the tour was Lounge on the Farm. Located just minutes away from the centre of Canterbury, the festival offered a winning line-up. 2012 brought artists like Roots Manuva, Mystery Jets, Emilie Sande and the Charlatans to the stage. Armed with the winning combination of a unique location on a real, working farm, delicious locally sourced food and a family-friendly atmosphere, Lounge on the Farm is now in its sixth year.
Early August, CK on tour arrived at Camp Bestival in the picturesque setting of Lulworth Castle, set against the backdrop of England’s dramatic Jurassic coastline in Dorset. With acts like Hot Chip and Rizzle Kicks, this festival was all about bringing back the British Holiday Camp for families.
Next up was the Summer Sundae Weekender – an award-winning three day festival with an eclectic line-up – was set in Leicester’s De Montfort Hall and Gardens. Last year’s acts included Beth Rowley, Datarock and Katy B and our Cath on Tour team had a wild time soaking up the exotic fantastic safari park theme.
Wrapping up CK on Tour with a bang, Festival No 6 brought unrivalled natural beauty to the festival scene. Set in the stunning peninsula of Portmeirion in North Wales, guests were spoilt for choice with the legendary New Order and Primal Scream headlining, alongside a bespoke bill of iconic bands and the freshest up-and-coming talent.
Our Tour video will give you a great snapshot of what we got up to – let us know if you spot yourself in it!
