Indulge yourself and the kids in this fun and a rather fascinating Easter recipe – Cath’s Curious Carrots. Guaranteed to impress and get the room talking, this easy dessert will go down a treat.
Small punnet of strawberries (washed and dried)
154g pack of Oreo cookies (crushed)
340g bag of orange candy melts (you can buy these at places like Hobby Craft)
Handful of watercress leaves
1. Take your clean strawberries and line them up on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
*Top Tip | Sometimes the parchment paper doesn’t stay in place and starts to roll back up. To stop this simply spray a little cooking oil on the tray.
3. Melt 255g of the orange candy melts by pouring them into a pan over a low heat. (Set the rest aside for later.) Be sure to keep stirring with a rubber spatula to ensure you aren’t left with any lumps! When the candy is completely liquid and smooth, remove the pan from the heat.
4. Now for the fun bit. Working quickly before the candy cools down, take each strawberry by its stem and dip into the candy before returning it to the lined baking tray. Leave the strawberries to set until the candy is hard.
5. Sprinkle the crushed Oreo’s on your favourite Cath Kidston serving plate and place the strawberries on top. Finish with a some watercress leaves for full effect.
