Clouds print: blue sky thinking

What do you think of when you think of spring? For us it’s the season of optimism, time to blow away the winter cobwebs with a big breath of fresh air: an idea that became our theme for SS15. Thinking of spring brought back memories of walking in the countryside on bright sunny days, gazing up at wide open blue skies…memories we just had to put into print.

To create our very own scene of fresh spring skies we became CK cloud spotters, taking inspiration from the huge variety of cloud shapes, colours and textures we saw at different times of day, as well as the textured finish of old wallpapers. Our cloudy print was carefully drawn to have lots of depth and detail and to give the feeling of a warm sun shining on cheerful, cotton wool clouds. See it come to life below.

Colour me happy | We tried out lots of different shades before we found the perfect blue tones for our cloudy skies. The vivid true blue version is key for SS15 – find it on everything from premium leather stationery and accessories to craft and kitchen kit. The second colourway, a dreamy pastel blue that’s the colour of bleached out high summer skies, is the star of our bed and bath and laundry collections.

Ways to wear | The outdoorsy spirit that inspired our prints this season also influenced our product designs – think chic but practical cycling gear and picnicware. Style sporty Clouds print bags and waterproofs with coordinating designs in Button Spot neon pink and Kingswood Rose cream for a ‘wheely’ great look (sorry!)  Those who prefer the great indoors will be on cloud nine in crisp cotton PJs and bedlinen in gentle pastel Clouds print, mixed and matched with Button Spot and Painted Daisy in the same sunbleached shades.

With Clouds print we’re channelling sunny spring days even when it’s grey and miserable outside – join us as we see out the last days of winter and look ahead to spring.
