The Library Collection: Bloomsbury Bouquet

Our AW15 Collection celebrates familiar, favourite prints drawn from the Cath Kidston archive and reimagined for the new season. Over the coming weeks we’ll be heading behind the scenes and visiting our Print Library to discover the stories behind some of our favourite updated archive prints. This week, meet Bloomsbury Bouquet.

BLOOMSBURY ARTWORK

Bloomsbury Bouquet has only been out of the spotlight for a couple of years (it was first developed for SS13) but we’re such fans of this bold floral that we felt it deserved another chance to shine.  The sophisticated drawing style and large scale were inspired by traditional upholstery fabrics but look really striking on some of our star bag and clothing styles.

Featuring lush bouquets of full bloom English flowers with our favourite roses as the star of the show; the name ‘Bloomsbury Bouquet’ is a play on the ‘blooms’ within the print and also nods to our London heritage.

BLOOMSBURY CREAM

For AW15 we’ve given the print a grown up new look with warmer flower head colours and three versatile new base colourways. The bright, fresh cream version will help you see out the summer months. Find it on bags and accessories galore, including our new shape cross-body bag, foldaway travel bags and tech cases, as well as a stand out intarsia jumper that’s perfect for pretty layering on cooler days.

BLOOMSBURY BLUE

The rich blue and classic black colourways have a more autumnal feel and lend polish to our fashion and accessories collections. Fall in love with Bloomsbury Bouquet blue fashion – we’ve used the print on textured cotton barkcloth for our classic skirt style and a brand new, beautiful dress shape that frames the print with contrast colour bands at the neckline, sleeves and hem. Bloomsbury blue also stars on favourite oilcloth bags, and the print was even specially engineered to fit fluid, lightweight shawls made from the finest silk.

BLOOMSBURY BLACK

Find Bloomsbury Bouquet black on key new bag styles including the Double Decker backpack, with a separate compartment for toting spare shoes, lunch or gym kit plus multi-wear straps, and the day-to-evening Bar Bag, which doubles as a clever clutch or spacious wallet and even has a dedicated lipstick holder.

All in all, we think Bloomsbury Bouquet is blooming marvellous! If you agree, be sure to pop back next week for another story from the Print Library.
