5 Jungle Fun Ideas to try this Half-Term

Hurray, it’s half-term and we bet you’re on the hunt for some half-term fun and adventures. Luckily, we’ve got your half term activities all sorted! We’ve put together 5 fun jungle themed things to do for you and your little ones to make the most of May half term and celebrate the exciting and exclusive new collection with The Jungle Book, which is now available online and in store.

1. Head on over to our Smoothie and Boogie event

Join in on the jungle fun, and celebrate our new Jungle Book x Cath Kidston collection at our smoothie and Boogie masterclass. Your cheeky monkeys will learn the jungle moves from our very own professional jungle entertainer, watch as they boogie on down to their favourite songs from The Jungle Book – you can join in on the dancing too! Or relax, browse the store and sip on fresh fruity smoothies whilst your little ones have fun on the jungle dance floor.

Get your tickets here, be quick as spaces are limited, you don’t want to miss out on the action-packed smoothie and boogie masterclass! For those who aren’t able to grab the last few tickets, we have free face painting in store from 11am until 1pm to continue the jungle fun too.

2.  Make Jungle Smoothies

Whizz up these vitamin-packed tropical treats for your kids this half term, they are super easy and delicious, be like Baloo and get a taste of the jungle! Your little ones will love sipping some of their five a day with these healthy fruit smoothie recipes.

Glorious Green Smoothie 

In a juicer or high-speed blender, combine 2 cups of spinach, 2 cups water, 1 cup mango, 1 cup pineapple and 2 bananas. Serve up in one if our tropical Jungle Book tumblers, and enjoy the jungle goodness with your kiddos!

Sunrise Smoothie 

In a juicer or high-speed blender blend 1 freshly squeezed orange with the pulp, ¾ cup peeled and chopped carrot, ¾ cup of mango chunks, 1 tablespoon of ginger, 1 tablespoon of honey. Serve up in one of our lovely limited edition Jungle Book tumblers, get your own here! 

Berry Baloo Smoothie 

In a juicer or high-speed blender, whizz together a small red beetroot, 1 large apple, 1/2 cup frozen mixed berries, and a dash of honey. sip and enjoy your tasty smoothie your little mini Mowgli’s.

3. Create Leaf Art

Re-create the leafy green scenes from The Jungle book at home! Your kids will have so much fun taking part in this artsy activity, get outside and wander around your garden or Local Park and pick out some exotic looking leaves to create your leafy print art.

You’ll need:

  • Basket for collecting leaves
  • Non Toxic Green Paint
  • Paint brush
  • Sheets of white paper
  • Spare damp cloth
  • Washable table cover
  • Painting tray
  • Art apron

1 . Begin the crafty adventure by taking your little ones for a walk in the great outdoors, and get picking! Make sure to pick a couple of fresh leaves that are whole, and aren’t holey, or frayed at the edges.

2 . Make sure to tie aprons around your kiddos, roll up their sleeves – it’s time to paint those leafy greens!

3 . Lay your work surface down in a washable table cover, now place the leaf down onto the painting tray.

4 . Paint one side of your leaf in green non-toxic child-friendly paint, make sure to get the one side of the leaf covered in an even layer of green paint.


5 . Carefully pick up the leaf and place it on your sheet of white paper, paint side down, be careful not to move it around as it will create smudges on the paper.

6.  Press gently onto the piece of paper and peel the leaf back to reveal your arty leaf print!

7 . Leave to dry.

5. Curl up together and watch The Jungle Book

Get cosy and curl up together to watch the Disney classic animation film, The Jungle Book! The original 1967 is a well-loved classic, sing along to the most memorable Disney movie celebration friendship, adventures and fun and marvel set in the lush and colourful jungle world. With jazzy toe-tapping tunes, you’ll all be singing along to the well-known songs ‘’The Bare Necessities’’ and the catchy ‘’I Wanna Be Like You!’’ It truly is a thrilling movie for all ages.
